Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a Pastoral Covenant Group?
A: A Pastoral Covenant Group (PCG) is a group of eight to twelve
pastors who covenant together to take a pastoral development journey
initially of a year to eighteen months. The process begins with a
covenant-making retreat of two to three days in length where the
pastors set the agenda for their journey together. In subsequent monthly
meetings, the PCG works to support one another, resource one another,
and hold one another accountable in their journey toward excellence.
Q: How can I enroll in a Pastoral Covenant Group?
A: Check the list of Pastoral Covenant Groups to
see if this initiative has been launched in your state. The Center works in
partnership with state and regional offices of the Church of God. Please
contact your state or regional office to express your desire to participate in
a Pastoral Covenant Group.
Q: How are Facilitators for Pastoral Covenant Groups chosen?
A: The Administrative Bishop of each state/region involved in the Pastoral
Covenant Group project appoints a person to serve as the State Coordinator
for the initiative. Typically, the State Coordinator and the Administrative Bishop
work together to decide who will serve as Facilitators of Pastoral Covenant Groups.
Once those Facilitators have been chosen, the Center's training team provides
orientation and training.
