72 Hours of Unity and Encouragement in Alabama
South Alabama's Pastoral Covenant Retreat met September 15-17 2005 near Gulf
Shores, Alabama. PCG Facilitator, Ernest L. Quinley reports, "It was amazing to
see the Holy Spirit at work in the lives of eight pastors from different backgrounds and
different size churches. In the process of 72 hours, the Lord made us as one."
Here is what two of the ministers said about the Pastoral Covenant Retreat:
"The Covenant Ministry concept has allowed pastors with varied backgrounds
and skills to unite for the common cause of Christ. It is developing a bond of fellowship
whereby one can be real and experience true acceptance. Walls of competition are broken
down and pillars of love and encouragement are being erected."
"Through the PCG I believe a door has opened to bring us back to the origin
of united brotherhood in the Spirit of Christ. I have really been encouraged by the love,
care, and sensitivity of my pastoral colleagues with a spirit of realness."
The South Alabama Pastoral Covenant Group retreat is one of twelve scheduled
for the month of September in the Covenant Pastoral Leadership Development
Initiative.
