Guyana Pastors Inspired by PCG Unity

A group of pastors in Guyana have caught a new vision for unity and covenant relationships.

In February the Great Lakes Region Pastoral Covenant Group (PCG) visited Guyana to conduct a leadership conference, preach in their churches, and assist with physical improvements. While these objectives were met, it was the modeling of covenant brotherhood that seemed to have made the greatest impact on the pastors of Guyana.

"They were impressed by the fact that we liked one another and that we laughed together," reports PCG Facilitator Dow Moses.

Dow continues, "True relationships were birthed among these ministers. One of them had a burden to see the fellowship grow, and we gave him money to provide a fellowship breakfast for the pastors in his area.

"One of the pastors called us a few days ago. A lady in his church had died, and one of the other churches had come over to help minister to the family. This pastor said nothing like this has ever happened before! I think in some small way God used the love in our group to be a strong testimony."

In addition to their work among pastors, the Great Lakes Region PCG was invited to a national prayer conference for the nation of Guyana. Several group members had the honor of sitting with the President and Prime Minister.

This project addressed two of the group's missional goals: (1) to be more mission-minded and (2) to model a teamwork effort that would be a testimony to others in the Great Lakes Region.

This missional project was made possible in part by a mini-grant from the Church of God Theological Seminary's Center for Pentecostal Leadership and Care.
